Massage Therapy II - Clinical Massage; Advanced Techniques; Assessment and Interventions

This class provides the "missing link" of massage therapy: the ability to confidently and competently assess client conditions and determine appropriate massage therapy interventions.

  • Assessment and intervention for common injuries
  • The tissue healing process
  • Trigger point theory and applications
  • Interventions for chronic pain syndromes and repetitive motion injuries

You will learn many new techniques: massage of the deep tissue, connective tissue techniques, and muscle energy techniques to name but a few.

Massage Therapy II consists of two days of class time on pre-established days consisting of lecture and plenty of hands-on practice. Each class is 3 1/2 hours in length.

After you have started learning the advanced techniques you will begin a 15 week period in Student Clinic. LSM is the only school in the area that offers this opportunity to work with the public in a setting that truly prepares you for the career you have chosen.

Student Clinic is approximately 3 hours in length and is scheduled to accommodate personal schedules while not conflicting with your other classes. It consists of two, one-hour sessions with clients who have scheduled appointments through the office. Each session is conducted in private rooms under supervision from instructors.
