Practicum

This class is generally completed as a part of Professional Development, but under special circumstances may be taken separately. The goal of this class is to make Massage Therapy available to special populations who might otherwise not have the opportunity to receive the benefits of massage. It allows you to learn to adapt your work in unique circumstance and enhance your communication skills. Our students have worked with people at the Center for Women and Families, Hospice, the Kling Center, and many other placement locales.

This class is composed of required volunteer placement hours and in-class supervision, support and feedback.

TESTIMONIAL
“Practicum was unlike any class I had ever taken. I chose to spend my 10 weeks at House of Ruth, a nonprofit organization that assists people and their families coping with HIV and AIDS. I said I wanted something that challenged me, not only physically and mentally, but emotionally too. House of Ruth did that! Thank you Brent and Katherine for living their Dream with us. I can honestly say that Massage Therapy has changed my life. I am a happier and healthier person now.  I have made new friends and family that I will keep for a lifetime. I will never forget my days here at LSM!!"
